Poetry: Belligerent June

Belligerent June

What is up with June?

The wind is cold.

The grass is wet.

The sky dark.

I’m depressed.

My happiness is lifted

at the sight of a little girl.

Strawberry blond, warmly dressed.

Happily placed on second base.

Why drive to a ball game?

Just for 30 min. of play?

Just for a taste of happiness.

Happiness in this chilly cold.

Happiness is watching my child grow.
